If you prefer to use a task based plan then you can use the task option instead.
Using the OnTrax Timesheets, you will set up child budgets and projects underneath your main budgets. Every project can have its own items, such as expenses, with unique levels of postings. This allows you to monitor your actual expenses to the amounts allocated to a project. Underneath your budget umbrella, you would enter the project area and put in acceptable expense limits to be posted to the account.
To do this:
1. Select Projects from the main toolbar
2. Select a project from the project tree in the left hand margin
3. Select the second icon over the left hand column.
5. After the spreadsheet loads click edit.
6. Enter expense limits into the spreadsheet

7. Click Save
Now you have entered the expected expenses into your project spreadsheet. As users post actual expenses to your project in the system, you can keep track of accumulating amounts through the reporting area and get an overview of potential cost overruns.
