9B. General Data Export

OnTrax Data Export allows for individual data elements within the system to be exported in a comma separated file (.csv).  The Data Export screen is accessed via the main menu "Integration" icon.

Export Type - The "Export Type" drop list allows for the filtering of available data sets and their associated fields. Export types include User Master records, Project Items, Budget Items, Time Entries - all statuses, Time Entries - approved only etc..

Note:  Based on the export type, the list of available export fields will change.  Not all fields are available for each export type.

Time Dependant Exports - Export Types that identify time related records such as Time and Expense postings require a date range specification. The date range specified determines which records are included in the file.

Time Independent Exports - Export Types that are not time dependant such as User Master, Project Items and Budget Items do not display date parameter fields nor do they offer Delta or Delta Initialization options.  For additional descriptions on exporting data, please see the white paper titled "9A. Exporting Data".

In order to create an export

1. Select the desired "Export Type" from the drop list.

2. Enter a Job ID and File Name.

3. Enter a date range if required by the export type.

4. Select the desired fields from the Export field grid.

5. Specify the field order if desired in order to format the file as needed.

6. Select the "Export" button to create the export.
