4N. De-Activating a Project

Once a project has been completed, and no other postings should be made to the project, the project should be set to 'Inactive' in order to keep users from posting to the project further.

Note:  Just because a project has been set to "inactive", does not mean that the project can no longer be seen. The system managers and/or comptrollers can still see the project on the project tree and may reset the project to active again at any time. The costs of the project that have been posted in the system can still be found on reports for authorized users.

The project will not be visible for time users to log hours against. Expenses will no longer be accepted toward this project. The project will continue to show up for the comptrollers and managers assigned to the project. In the time entry screen, on screens that display time/expenses previously entered against the project, a 'Lock' will appear next to each entry signifying no more modifications are allowed for the project.
