The Project Item Maintenance is where you configure the project items. The values you set here will be used as the default values when you assign a project item to a project.
FIELDS
Project Item ID - an unique identifier for the project item.
Short Text - A short textual description of the project item.
Long Text - A longer and more detailed description of the project item.
Status - Activates or inactivates the project item.
Type Project Maintenance | Project Users Tab
Expense - the project item will display in expense related screens like Enter Expenses.
General Expense - the project item will display in the Project Postings screen.
Time - the project item will display in timesheet related screens like Enter Time.
Billing Type - marks the item as being billable or non-billable.
Use Internal Rate (Time Item Specific) - allows the internal rate to be defined at the project item level
Use External Rate (Time Item Specific) - allows the external rate to be defined at the project item level
Max. Individual Posting - the maximum amount that can be entered in an individual posting.
Locked at Project level (Time Item Specific) - when the project item is assigned to a project in the Project Maintenance | Project Items Tab the rate information will not be changeable
Billing Type Locked (Time Item Specific) - When billing type locked is selected, at time of entry, the Billable / Non Billable option is not available.
Payroll Reference - used as the reference for Payroll Export.
Billing Reference - used as the reference for Vendor Billing Export
Budget Item - the Budget Item that this project item rolls up to for budgeting purposes.
Quick Tips:
Step 1. Choose the appropriate project item
Step 2. Select the Edit button
Step 3. Make the necessary changes to the project item, save your work
To Create a Project Item
Step 1. Select Icon over top of project item tree
Step 2. Name project item and select project item type (Time, Expense, or General Expense)
Step 3. Modify other fields and save your work.
